I just launched Creative Depart 1 week ago and today I found the first layout thief. His name is Sugar Mob, “a group of writers, journalists and ne’er’-do-well’ intellectuals”. Well, it’s not the first time this kind of thing happens to me (actually you can find more examples on this blog if you search my archives: PS Hero, Funkyou… ) but this time, what makes me nervous is the ugly way they copied CreativeDepart. Everything is cloned!

a funny thing:
I have a div called “titlu” that means “title” in romanian. Guess what?! It’s identical in their code..
another one:
for Creative Depart I used a script, made by some guys named Suprb, that calculates the height of each post.
Only, if you look into my code you’ll find a text saying “thank you” to Suprb for their wonderful script and after that a small disclaimer that’s saying “Do not clone any line from this website without authors permission”, in this case: me & Suprb. Of course they deleted the line with “do not clone…” and left only the one with Suprb. Probably Suprb looks more scarry than me…

these are few examples, if you are curious compare the 2 websites codes by yourself and you’ll find that SugarMob is a very big clone of CreativeDepart.
*adding posts like this don’t make me feel better or happy, but “shame” is the only thing that could possibly make some of these guys play fair…

nu ma pricep la cod. dar ca si “layout” creativedepart mi se pare mai aproape de alte site-uri de gen decat sugar mob de creative depart. asa ca nustiu :), eu n-as fi asa vehement.

am vorbit cu proprietarul siteului pe mail si a recunoscut tot, desigur, cu greu si nu din prima….
creative-ul merge, cateva sute pe zi, cam 50 de subscriberi la RSS….

Hahaha! that’s funny… They copied what you got for free from Suprb :))
That’s a good one. Don’t be so hypocrite… All you did was to add a header to Suprb’s wordpress theme. So don’t act like you own the “layout”. If you want to be so self righteous, say they copied your code but don’t confuse people into thinking that this is your great design idea.

si eu folosesc templateul asta la siteul de portofoliu (templateul de la Suprb). am ceva probleme cu codul si sper sa-i dau de cap cumva…
